Click Speed (CPS) Testing Guide
How to Use This Test
- Choose a duration preset above (the 5-second mode is the standard gaming benchmark).
- Click as rapidly as possible inside the large click arena. The timer begins on your very first click.
- Maintain your fastest clicking rhythm until the countdown reaches zero.
- Review your final CPS (Clicks Per Second) score, total click count, and gamer tier ranking.
- Click again to instantly restart the test and challenge your personal best.
What Is a Good CPS Score?
- 4 – 7 CPS (Casual): Normal speed for everyday computer browsing and office work.
- 8 – 10 CPS (Fast): Great speed for competitive gaming (like League of Legends, Valorant, or Fortnite).
- 11 – 14+ CPS (Pro): Elite tier achieved by Minecraft PvP players using specialized clicking techniques.
Popular Clicking Techniques Explained
- Standard Clicking: Clicking naturally with your index finger. Easiest to maintain aim and control without hand strain.
- Butterfly Clicking: Alternating your index and middle fingers on the same mouse button to double your click cadence.
- Jitter Clicking: Intentionally vibrating your forearm muscles to tap the switch at rapid bursts (take breaks to prevent wrist fatigue).
How Your Mouse Hardware Affects CPS
Gaming mice with low mechanical debounce latency or optical light switches register rapid presses cleanly without dropping clicks. Heavy office mice often have stiffer switches and higher software debounce delays designed to prevent accidental presses, which can cap your maximum CPS.
