How to Use This Tool

  1. Click the red "Record" button and allow microphone permission in your browser prompt.
  2. Speak into your microphone. Watch the live waveform visualizer to confirm sound is registering clearly.
  3. Use "Pause" and "Resume" if you need to take a break without creating a new file.
  4. Click "Stop" when finished. An audio player will appear with your full recording.
  5. Listen to your take and click "Download Audio" to save the recording to your device.

Which Audio Format Should You Choose?

WAV (Uncompressed) records raw studio audio with maximum fidelity, making it ideal for music, podcast editing, and transcription. WebM / Opus compresses audio efficiently with smaller file sizes, perfect for voice memos and email sharing.

Preventing Distortion & Audio Clipping

If your voice sounds harsh, crackly, or distorted on playback, your microphone volume is likely set too high, causing digital clipping. In Windows or macOS sound settings, lower your microphone input level to around 70%–80% so speech peaks don't max out the meter.

100% Client-Side Privacy

Your voice recording is captured and encoded entirely in your browser's local RAM. No audio files, snippets, or transcripts are sent to remote servers or third-party clouds.
